Last chance to write...

Now that I am done with 7 essays, three presentations and 1500 pages (or thereabouts) of reading, I feel the need to update everyone once more before I travel to mainland Europe for a month.

On Saturday, I leave for Paris, where I will stay for around three nights, then move on south to where the water is warmer and the language romantic. After I travel in Spain and portugal, I will come back into southern France along the Cote D'azur. I plan to be there for at least a few days. Then its on to Italy for a few, and who knows after that. All I really know for sure is that I will be living out of a 75 liter backpack. I have been waiting for this trip for some time, and it almost seems surreal that is actually less than a week away.

With that trip on the horizon, all I need to do is finish one more essay and one more presentation. When that is done, I will be pizza in Pisa.

Since I have not updated the site in some time, here is a brief recap of what I can remember.

After I came home from my visit with Rhy's family in Wales, I hit the books and saw more of London. Our basketball team lost for the first time, in a thriller by three to a 'sports' university, whose students specialize in sports instead of academics.

Since I last wrote...

I have been writing the articles for our schools' newspaper about the games, but because of contractual and libel restrictions, they cannot be reprinted here. If anyone would like copies, feel free to email me. I have continually met new people everyday, and the list continues on the countries from which they journey.

I have stopped eating all forms of cow meat, not for any religious or ideologic purposes, but because Mad Cow Disease has erupted yet again in Europe, and I'm not taking any chances.

I got two shirts and two pair of pants drycleaned, and it cost me 10 pounds. Ridiculous, thats over 14 dollars.

I went to the LSE student's union meeting and was stunned to realize that 'parliamentary procedure' entails throwing crumpled up newspaper at the elected representatives and guest speakers. This meeting is held in an audotorium with a balcony, so that many rugby players have easy access to the stage with there aerodynamic paper balls. The only person who avoids the onslaught of broadsheet is one good looking young lady who receives hoots and hollers instead.

This past weekend I went and saw "A Doll's House," the famous Henrik Ibsen play. It was really well performed and staged, and though I know little about the theater, I am beginning to become more of a fan.

Finally, I wish everyone Happy Holidays, as I am not wholly sure if I will be able to update the site while backpacking. Being away from those I love at holiday time is hardest of all, but hopefully I can join you all in spirit and have some good pictures when I get back.
